8. Typical Peat Grough on the Kinder Plateau

(2008-2825) Peat Grough on the Kinder Plateau
Poucher's view is all but impossible to reproduce exactly, so I have added a broadly similar view of the peat groughs on Kinder Scout. These "paths" run all over the plateau and can be 2 - 3 metres deep which makes it impossible to see any landmarks. Once you have followed these for a while it is likely to be somewhat disorientating, hence the importance of carrying and being able to use a compass and map when on the plateau.
